A drifting boat heading for rocks resulted in Fishguard RNLI's inshore lifeboat launching on its first shout of 2014 on Monday.
The boat, thought to be an abandoned shell of the yacht Fidget of Fishguard, broke free from its shore mooring in T.S.Skirmisher car park in Lower Town, and drifted out into Fishguard Harbour.
HM Coastguard was contacted and the inshore lifeboat launched at 1.15pm on a wet and wild afternoon.
The boat was getting close to the rocks at the end of the northern breakwater when the lifeboat reached it and towed it slowly back through rough seas to Lower Town harbour.
It was returned back to the carpark shoreline to meet the local coastguard team.
