Euros Griffiths from Mynachlogddu recently raised £700 for Wales Air Ambulance after he asked for donations to the charity instead of presents on his 50th birthday.
He chose to give the money to Wales Air Ambulance after a family member of his was rescued by the charity's service a few years ago.
Fundraising Manager Mark Stevens said: "We really appreciate what Euros has done for us. It's an incredibly selfless act, and what generous friends and family he must have to raise that amount!"
Wales Air Ambulance rely 100% on donations in order to operate their three helicopters, protecting people all over Wales
