A long empty plot in the centre of Cardigan has got planning permission for 12 new flats.
Ceredigion planners gave the go-ahead for the development by Tai Cantref in William Street. Planning officer Richard Duggan described it as an "acceptable scheme that fits in well with the street scene."
Tai Cantref said it would be renting out the one bedroom flats through its local lettings policy ensuring that local people on the housing waiting list will have a chance for a new home. It will also ask tenants not to have cars to allay parking problems.
The scheme was supported by local member Cllr Mark Cole.
