CHRISTMAS kicked off in Cardigan on Saturday as the town's lights were officially switched on by mayor and mayoress Cllr Gywnfi and Marion Jenkins.
Saturday saw the first of the three weekends of free festive parking in the town.
Organisers of Cardigan Castle's Christmas fair in the Guildhall and market were delighted with the attendance which saw crowds of people visiting the 40 plus festive stalls.
"We shall definitely be holding a similar event next year - hopefully in the completed castle," said castle director Cris Tomos.
Shoppers can take advantage of free parking in the town this Saturday (December 14) and next Saturday (December 21) when there are plans for another Christmas fair in the market.
