Cardigan U3A’s Open Day proved a resounding success

THIS very popular local branch of U3A attracted a large number of both members and potential members to its recent Open Day which was held at the Catholic Church hall in Cardigan.
The afternoon event not only allowed existing members to explore the choice and facilities of other groups, but helped visitors and potential members to learn more about the organisation and its activities, and information on how to become a member of Cardigan U3A.
Cardigan U3A is proving immensely popular and has developed over twenty Interest Groups covering such activities including photography, history, outdoor activities, walks, music and social activities. Representatives from all the groups were on hand with lots of photo’s and information on places they had visited or meetings and speakers they had enjoyed. The energy and enthusiasm must have been infectious as most of the groups managed to sign up several new members on the day.
One such new member was quoted as saying “The striking thing about Cardigan U3A for me is the generosity of spirit of your members; I have never before come across a group people who really want to share their knowledge and enthusiasms with others to this extent”
Our next meeting is on Thursday November 28th the speaker will be Catrin Miles, who will be reflecting on her time in office as the Mayor of Cardigan.
New members are very welcome to come along to the meetings which are held in the Catholic Church, North Road, and Cardigan on the 4th Thursday of the month. To find out more about U3A and what it could offer you, please contact: Peter Mears 01239 811581 or Pam Dale 01239 615678
