CARDIGAN Building Preservation Trust is celebrating the completion of the Guildhall Courtyard restoration with the installation of the new entrance gates to the archway entrance. The gate design features sheaves of corn to reflect the original use of the front area of the building as a Corn Exchange, now a successful gallery. The gates were designed by Holden Acanthus of Pembroke, architects for the Guildhall restoration project, and constructed by Tim Phillips of Anvil Fabrications, a local firm, based in Parc Teifi, Cardigan.
This last phase of the Guildhall restoration was made possible by funding from the Welsh Government Rural Development Plan, Ceredigion County Council, Cadw and Cardigan Town Council.
