CARDIGAN is going Bard-crazy this week with 12 hour daily readings of Shakespeare's works.
The Bardathon was started at Ysgol Uwchradd Aberteifi on Friday morning as town mayor Cllr Gwynfi Jenkins started with The Tempest.
Readings continued throughout the school day with the Bardathon then re-locating to the former Brethyn Cartref shop in High Street where it will run until the end of the week. The aim is to raise funds to refurbish the school gym.
Hundreds of people have signed up for the event with Cardigan Theatre doing a reading of Macbeth on Thursday night from 5.15pm and local amateur actors taking on King Lear from 11.15am on Friday.
There is a large exhibition of school photos and memorabilia stretching back over 80 years. There is also a raffle for free ride tickets to Cardigan Fair. The shop is open from 8am to 8pm.
