MORE than 2,000 people tuned in to the first live webcast of Ceredigion's full council meeting on Thursday.
The four and a half hour meeting, chaired by council chairman and Cardigan councillor John Adams-Lewis, was broadcast in both Welsh and English.
Councillor Ellen ap Gwynn, Leader of Ceredigion County Council, said: “At a time when the Council will have to make tough decisions on behalf of the county’s residents, it is essential that the decision-making process is as open and transparent as possible, and broadcasting meetings online will enable people from all parts of Ceredigion, Wales and the world to view local democracy in action.”
At the moment only full council meetings will be broadcast.
The next council meeting will be held on Tuesday, November 5 at 2pm. Visit https://new.livestream.com/Ceredigion/ to view the proceedings, or https://new.livestream.com/CeredigionEng/ for simultaneous English translation.
