THE MS Oxygen Therapy Centre Cardigan has been shortlisted for the Lloyds Bank Community Fund 2013 in Pembrokeshire.
By encouraging the public to vote, MS Oxygen Therapy Centre has a chance to be awarded a £3,000 grant from Lloyds Bank to enable it to continue doing good work in the community.
The Oxygen Therapy Centre is a small charity based on the Pentood Estate in Cardigan offering Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy. We were primarily set up as a Centre to treat Multiple Sclerosis but since opening in 2002 we now treat many illnesses including Fibromyalgia, ME, Arthritis and can offer help from side-effects of radiotherapy. We are one of only two centres in Wales who can treat children with Autism, Cerebral Palsy and childhood cancers. We can also treat people with fractures, sports injuries and wound healing problems. Although high dose oxygen cannot cure people of chronic illnesses it can relieve many of the debilitating symptoms, reduce pain and inflammation, and combat fatigue.
Alongside the Oxygen Therapy we offer members Reflexology, Reiki and Deep Tissue Massage. We are also an Information Point for the MS Society where people can come for advice and information on all aspects of living with MS. At anytime people can drop in for support and this is an integral part of our service. Those with chronic illnesses can become very isolated but many of our members will sit around the table for hours chatting over a cup of tea.
The Lloyds Bank Community Fund will make a huge difference to The MS Oxygen Therapy Centre Cardigan by enabling us to replace our existing safety system for the oxygen tank, without which we would be unable to run., making a difference to the lives of many adults and children across Pembrokeshire, Ceredigion and Carmarthenshire. Please vote for us to benefit from the Community Fund award.
The Lloyds Bank Community Fund is helping local people across England and Wales to have a positive impact at the hearts of their communities by giving grants to over 1,300 local good causes in villages, towns and cities across England and Wales.
