From Cardigan to Canada

A CARDIGAN family who emigrated to Canada over 30 years ago have flourished in their new surroundings.
Michael and Jennifer Morgan, whose family owned Caemorgan farm, are now celebrating their golden wedding anniversary.
After emigrating, they started a purebred herd called CaeMorgan Holsteins, which their sons Nick and Sean took over in the 1990's with parental help where needed. The herd was sold in 2011 and replaced with a 60,000 bird broiler chicken operation and more land totaling around 2,000 acres of wheat, oats and canola. This earned them the county 2012 new farm business of the year award as well as the 2013 farm family of the year award. Michael, Jennifer and their daughter Julia now live on the west coast of British Columbia and their five grandsons and three granddaughters are all attending school, college or university.
The Tivy-Side published an article about them when they emigrated to Canada in March 1979. The other photograph shows their expanded family today at the farm that they took over in Alberta after leaving their farm at Penrallt Meredith.
