A CASE in which a 41-year-old man is accused of assaulting and causing injury to another man in Llandysul is to be dealt with at the crown court.
Dennis Turner, of Bro Gwynfaen, Panteg Crossroads, Llandysul, who was represented by Stephen Welch, appeared at Ceredigion Magistrates Court charged with unlawfully and maliciously wounding Timothy Miles without intent to inflict grievous bodily harm contrary to the Offences Against the Person Act. The assault was allegedly committed on Saturday, July 13.
Crown prosecutor Gerald Neave submitted that the matter was too serious to be dealt with summarily and applied for it to be sent to the crown court.
Presiding magistrate Alun Thomas said he and his colleagues agreed with the submission and declined jurisdiction.
Turner, who did not enter a plea, is to appear at Swansea Crown Court for a case management hearing on Friday, October 25.
