ABSENT community councillors came under the spotlight at a recent meeting of Llandysul Community Council.
Speaking at last Monday’s meeting, Cllr Terry Griffiths questioned the rules regarding councillors failing to attend a number of meetings without good reason.
Cllr Terry Griffiths said: ““You get genuine apologies when people are ill etc, but when someone takes on another post which interferes with the council that’s another thing.”
Councillors were told that six meetings could be missed before action was taken.
Cllr Doug Davies said: “It’s laughable when someone says they will represent this council and never turns up.”
The council’s clerk agreed to put together an information pack to include rules about missing meetings.
