AN ASSAULT victim has been bound over to keep the peace after he failed to comply with a direction from a police officer.
Steven Watson, aged 27, of 20 Morfa Gwyn Flats, New Quay, appeared before Aberystwyth magistrates on Wednesday.
The court heard that paramedics and police were called to New Quay football club at 11pm on September 14 after the defendant had been assaulted.
Watson, who was drunk, did not want to say who had assaulted him, and was asked to move away by police, but came back to the scene against their instructions.
Iestyn Davies defending said: “He was the victim of an assault that evening and had injuries.
“He accepts things could have been dealt with differently and that his behaviour amounted to a breach of the peace.”
Magistrates bound Watson over to keep the peace for six months.
