PUPILS at Ysgol Ciliau Parc in Ciliau Aeron and Ysgol Talgarreg star in Ras yr Iaith's video which went online last week.

They take part - running and dancing - with popular singer and actor, Dewi 'Pws' Morris who lives in Tresaith. The Cajun-themed song, 'Ymlaen, Ymlaen' was composed by Dewi and recorded at Fflach studios, Cardigan with support from musican Dafydd Saer and a young band from Aberystwyth, Y Mellt.

The video was shot around the route of the Ras - Machynlleth, Aberytwyth, Lampeter and Aberaeron. Dewi said: "Ras yr Iaith is about bringing people together and we wanted the video to show that. We shot several scenes with the kids and they were great. We also had a lot of fun filming with people in Aberaeron and Lampeter. I'm really happy with the video. As the song will be played along the route of the Ras I wanted a song which people could run to - Cajun music always brings a smile to my face and it's catchy, so, it fits the Ras well, I think.”

Ras yr Iaith is a fun run for the Welsh language. It will start at Machynlleth at 1pm on September 13 and clubs, schools, businesses and societies have sponsored 1 km each for £50.

Their members and supporters will run the sponsored kilometre, though, they are also welcome to run further.

Events have been organised to welcome the Ras in Aberystwyth on Friday evening; Aberaeron on Saturday evening and at the end of the Ras in Cardigan on Sunday evening.

The video has been uploaded on Youtube and can also be enjoyed on the Ras yr Iaith website: http://rasyriaith.org
