GREEN-FINGERED locals have been announced as winners of the Tai Ceredigion's fourth annual Garden Competition.
Staff, organisers, and local judge Roger Spencer of Trefhedyn Garden Centre, Newcastle Emlyn have been delighted with the excellent standard and number of entries for 2013.
Mr Spencer had the difficult task of judging the competition and noted that even the challenging weather conditions at the beginning of the year had not deterred the keen gardeners and a bumper crop of entries were received from across the county.
"The competition is an important part of our annual timetable of events" said Sue Thomas, Tenant Participation Advisor for Tai Ceredigion. "Our tenants make such an effort with their gardens it's great that we can arrange a competition to celebrate all their hard work" she added.
Dorothy Morrow, Henllan, Llandysul; Sarah Andrews, Glascoed, Llandysul, and Philip Noble, Ridgeway, Cardigan, were among those who managed to pip the rest to the post and win the top spots this year. Winners will receive certificates and vouchers for Trefhedyn Garden Centre.
