Possession of £2 worth of cannabis cost an unemployed Newcastle Emlyn man £100 plus a 12 month conditional discharge, following a court appearance this week.
Darren Jonathan Williams , aged 24, of Caerhun, Blaencillech, Newcastle Emlyn, pleaded guilty to possession of 0.2g of cannabis, estimated to be worth £2, when he appeared before Aberystwyth magistrates on Wednesday.
The court heard that police executed a warrant at Williams' home on February 27, and found two grinders and a spliff.
When interviewed, Williams made a full admission, and said he intended to smoke the Class B drug at home.
The court made a destruction order for the drug and paraphernalia seized during the search.
