Motorist banned

A motorist whose car was stopped by police on an unclassified road in south Ceredigion was over the drink/drive limit, a court was told.

John Emyr Jones aged 48, of Morawel, Synod Inn, appeared at South Ceredigion Magistrates Court when he pleaded guilty to a charge driving a motor vehicle when his alcohol level was above the limit.

Jones was driving a Pugeot Partner on the Ffostrasol to Plwmp road on January 6. He provided a positive roadside breath test and intoximeter tests showed a reading of 58 microgrammes – the legal limit is 35.

He was fined £110 with £70 costs and £20 victim surcharge and disqualified from driving for 15 months.
