Cardigan man to deny GBH

A Cardigan man accused of an attack that left a man with a fractured jaw that required metal plates to be inserted is to deny a charge of inflicting grievous bodily harm.

Kenneth Mark Newell, 25, of 7 Maes yr Haf, today (Friday) attended a preliminary hearing at Swansea crown court before Judge Peter Heywood.

He was not asked to enter a plea to a charge of inflicting grievous bodily harm on Spence-Lee Curtis with intent on 26 May last year.

But his barrister, Janet Gedrych, said he would enter a plea of not guilty at the next hearing scheduled for April 19.

He was granted bail meanwhile.
