Assault case adjourned

A case against a teenager accused of assaulting a man in Cardigan and causing criminal damage to a window has been adjourned at the request of the Crown Prosecution Service.

Jason Mark Ronnie Smith aged 19, c/o Gennau’r Glyn, Beulah, was charged with common assault on Christopher Clarke in October last year.

He was further charged that on the same day he damaged a window pane belonging to Home Rent Propert Services and a Bail Act offence after failing to attend a previous court.

Prosecutor Gerald Neave said an adjournment was needed for the police to contact the complainant and ascertain the cost of the damage.

The case was adjourned until Wednesday, January 30 and the defendant had his unconditional bail renewed.
