Rope bridge over Teifi?

How about a rope bridge spanning the estuary from St Dogmaels to the other side. A work of art and engineering feat in one, as well as a useful shortcut over and through beautiful surroundings.

Using modern, burnproof materials, it would pull them in from miles around. If they can do it in the jungle, surely we could do it here. A world renowned' bridge to the seat of the 2010 Eisteddfod celebrations.

I look up to the thrill of looking down!

A more useful feat of engineering for 2010 would be to get the Tesco junction opened.

What an excellent idea having a rope bridge crossing the Teifi, however I do feel that it would be far more important if the council of Cardigan reviewed the reasons for the flooding in the town, and up the Teifi estuary. As over the years on returning to my home town I am shocked to note how the Teifi is being chocked by the silt. This is not a new problem, but is becoming worse,as when i was boy people then would complain about the silting of the Teify 40 yrs ago,and what has been done "nothing".
If the Teify was to be removed from the banks and the river look at the benefits it could have for the area-
1)The sand removed could be reused for building etc.
2)The floods may not be as severe, which in turn could increase house prices, reduce insurance costs, and reduce the anxieties of the home/buisness owners.
3)It may also be possible for Cardigan to yet again see more boats/small ships moore in the town.
I hope the council does take note of this idea,as at the end of the day is it not their responsillity to protect the future of the area, and its people.

We don't do 'useful' in Cardigan any more. If it looks like it might be it has to go.
