Important to care

Back in the 90s a training course was doing the rounds called ‘First We Care’. It was designed to train people to make the customer feel appreciated and special, and became known as the ‘Care Bear’ course.
I was reminded of this on Wednesday when (in pouring rain) I walked to the playing fields at Maesglas. About thirty to forty concerned people had turned out to meet with Tai Ceredigion representatives to discuss the build plans. In the event Tai Ceredigion did not turn up for reasons I did not discover, but I did see very frustrated and upset people who had put themselves out to be there. If only a high percentage of Tai Ceredigion personnel could be put on a ‘Care Bear Course’ they would learn that if you say you will ‘call back’ you do so and, if you promise to ‘turn up’ again, you do so. I think Tai Ceredigion have done themselves no favours whatsoever by treating these good people in so disrespectful a way.
In fact they have only stirred up a hornet’s nest of pure passion and determination., that will be a thorn in Tai Ceredigion’s side for a very long time to come.
