Enjoying life to the Max!

Rugby and comedy fans alike are in for a huge treat in June as Max Boyce will be holding a one-off and exclusive Grand Slam 2008 celebration in Pafiliwn Bont, Pontrhydfendigaid.

Max Boyce is without doubt the most famous of Welsh rugby fans and has celebrated the highs and lows of the national sport on stage in his own original way for decades.

The evening in Bont on Friday, June 6, will be his official Grand Slam 2008 celebration in which he promises to showcase brand new material for the first time.

Pafiliwn Bont manager, Owain Schiavone said: "Max Boyce is a legend and his name is part of Welsh rugby folklore without even having played the game for Wales!

"We are chuffed to bits that he has chosen Pafiliwn Bont as the venue for his official Grand Slam celebration. It's also very apt that Wales will be playing their first test since winning the Six Nations when they take on world champions South Africa the following day - what better way to get the blood boiling for the match than a live show with Max Boyce."

This will be Max Boyce's first visit to the new £2.5m Objective 1 funded Pafiliwn, but he did visit the old venue around 30 years ago, when he attracted a full-house.

Owain said: "I've heard a lot about that concert since the Pavilion re-opened and it seems to be a legendary event in the area's history. With the buzz around Welsh rugby at the moment and Max preparing new material for the concert it is bound to be another really memorable nights entertainment."

Tickets are now available - see the Pafiliwn website www.pafiliwnbont.co.uk or phone 01974 831635 for further details.
