Laughter guaranteed

10:09am Thursday 3rd May 2007

Laugh Lines Comedy Club swings daringly into the Queens Hall on Thursday 17th. May for another evening of outrageous rib tickling fun.

The headline comic is Steve Gribbin Steve Gribbin is a diminutive guitar-wielding satirist from Liverpool whose scabrous comedy songs and off the wall observations have made him one of the firm favourites of the comedy circuit.

Steve's original comedy songs combine razor sharp lyrics with tunes that put their foot in the door of your mind and refuse to leave. Firmly based in rock 'n' roll, these are not the 'oh so witty' ditties of penguin-suited plink plonk piano playing posh gobs. They are that rarity - comedy songs which are actually funny.

For nine years Steve was the smaller one in the dynamic comedy duo Skint Video, stalwart's of the Edinburgh Festival, appearing on countless television programmes such as Saturday Liveand on radio in The Mary Whitehouse Experience. Skint Video went their different ways in 1993, since when Steve has been storming across the UK and Ireland as a solo artiste.

The MC for this night is Martin Bigpig who has a highly developed sense of humour. His mission: To remove evil from the world, or at least have a laugh about it. Coming from a circus family, he became the dynamic, multi-skilled performer Martin Bigpig, combining startlingly original material with bold, energetic improvisation. His love of working the audience, and an inability to remember his script, mean that every show is a unique interactive live event, and no two shows are ever the same.

Gordon Southern is a highly sought after international comedian. He's performed many times at the Edinburgh festival, garnering four star reviews in the Guardian, Scotsman and The List. In 2003 he learned guitar and drums for a critically acclaimed show "My Drums Hell"
