A SUMMER recital evening in Tenby is offering the chance to hear three of Pembrokeshire's gifted musicians.

Violinist Lily Whitehurst; pianist Iestyn Griffiths and soprano Sarah Benbow will be performing in the magnificent setting of St Mary's Church on August 17.

"This promises to be a very special evening," said concert co-ordinator Lisa Shelmerdine Richards. "Featured are three of Pembrokeshire's home-grown talents, all of whom have gained experience and developed their skills through Pembrokeshire's unique and valuable music service.

"Alongside their individual hard work, dedication and commitment, this has led to outstanding career paths in music."

Former Greenhill School pupil Lily, is currently studying at the Royal Northern College of Music, Manchester and has recently been appointed as a member of the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra.

She continues to work with orchestras such as The Halle, the Northern Chamber Orchestra, Sinfonia Cymru and Manchester Camerata, with whom she will shortly be going on tour to China.
