CARDIGAN’S Theatr Mwldan will be screening Matthew Bourne’s sparkling production of Cinderella on Tuesday, May 15 (7pm).

This unique interpretation of the classic tale is a thrilling and evocative love story set in London during the Second World War. The internationally acclaimed choreographer’s interpretation of the classic fairy tale has, at its heart, a true war-time romance.

A chance meeting results in a magical night for Cinderella and her dashing young RAF pilot, together just long enough to fall in love before being parted by the horrors of the Blitz.

Matthew Bourne’s vivid storytelling has never been more heart-stopping and touching, and will take the audience into the heart of Prokofiev’s magnificent score.

The production has received rave reviews.

“Clever, clever Bourne. He sprinkles his stage with the stardust of fairytale romance, but he gives his story a proper tear-jerking heft by reminding us that darkness always surrounds the stars,” writes The Guardian

The Telegraph says: “When he’s on top form – which is often – Matthew Bourne creates shows that are essentially beyond reproach. Swan Lake, The Car Man, Play Without Words, Edward Scissorhands, last year’s The Red Shoes: these are banquets of dance theatre, thematically ambitious, narratively crystalline, full of wit, often very sexy indeed, and utterly, helplessly enjoyable.”

This special dance screening will be followed by a live Q&A with Matthew Bourne exclusively for cinemas.

Tickets for Matthew Bourne’s Cinderella at Mwldan are £12.50 (£11.50) and are available now from Theatr Mwldan’s Box Office on 01239 621200, online at www.mwldan.co.uk or via the new Mwldan app.
