REHEARSALS are well under way for Cardigan Theatre's latest production Steel Magnolias by Robert Harling.
The play is to be performed at the town’s Theatr Mwldan on May 10, 11 and 12.
Those of you with long(ish) memories may remember the 1989 film version starring Dolly Parton, Shirley MacLaine and a young Julia Roberts.
The action of the play takes place in Truvy's Beauty Shop in Chinquapin, a Deep South small town in the heart of Louisiana, America.
Truvy's is the centre of the spider's web that is the ladies' network. Everything that happens in the town is discussed within these four walls by the six good friends who gather here.
All aspects of life are covered in this beautifully written play, at times hilariously funny but also poignant and thought provoking.
Tickets for Steel Magnolias are £7 and are available now from Theatr Mwldan’s box office on 01239 621200, online at www.mwldan.co.uk or via the new Mwldan app.
