A REFRESHING film about the trials and tribulations of female friends living, loving, and working in a big city will be screening at Cardigan’s Theatr Mwldan on Sunday, February 4.

In Between is Arab-Israeli director Maysaloun Hamoud’s debut feature, which explores the friction between traditional ways of life and the ever-changing modern world.

What makes this spiky dramedy so compelling are the Palestinian-Israeli protagonists, whose split lives have rarely been depicted on screen.

These strong, modern, sexually-active women, living independently in central Tel Aviv, away from their families and the weight of tradition, struggle to be true to themselves when confronting the expectations of others.

The screening of the 15-certificate Mwldan Film Society presentation takes place at 5.45pm.
