ARTIST Ellie Young is to stage an exhibition at Oriel Mwldan in Cardigan entitled ‘Changing Faces’ from January 20-March 4.

Ellie creates portraits, aspiring to show what people look like in a ‘specific moment’; when caught in movement or a fleeting expression.

Inspired by film, images collected from the internet, and real life encounters, Young paints individual works, which she playfully builds into themed collections.

Expect wit, colour and emotion, as the artist sensitively and self-reflectively responds to the lived and virtual worlds around her, recording the multiple ways we all attempt to hide and reveal ourselves.

Join the free opening event with the opportunity to have your portrait painted by Ellie on January 20 at 4 pm, or come and get your 15 minute portrait painted by the artist on January 27 and February 10.

Admission to Oriel Mwldan is free and the gallery is open every day: Monday 5pm-8pm (or 10am-8pm during the school holiday); Tuesday to Saturday 10am-8pm and Sunday noon-8pm.
