THEATR Mwldan Film Society’s latest offering is The Red Turtle which will be screened in Cardigan on Sunday, December 17 at 5.45pm.
In this animated fantasy, a massive sea turtle destroys a stranded man's raft every time he tries to sail away from a tropical island.
This Studio Ghibli co-production from Michael Dudok de Wit delivers a zen-like minimalism and offers a magical, meditative take on Robinson Crusoe.
It's simply a masterpiece, a lush and luminous visual symphony which celebrates nature as both a furious, deadly force and a soothing source of love.
“This is a movie to bask in, and we’re given the space to do so,” says The Guardian.
The film carries a PG rating.
