THEATR Mwldan Film Society’s latest screening at Cardigan is ‘On Body and Soul’ (certificate 18), a quirky, deadpan romantic drama from Hungarian writer-director Ildiko Enyedi.

This sometimes rather brutal romantic dramedy delivers a mix of magical realist humour and stylized sensuality in this story of two lonely slaughterhouse employees who go to absurd lengths to fall into each other’s arms.

The film’s most considerable achievement is to sustain its drama on a finely poised level of emotional intimacy, while sometimes hitting us with intense images.

The screening takes place on November 12 at 6.15pm.
