BASED in Dublin, Bilbao and England, travelling folk band The Rubber Wellies are heading to Pembrokeshire.
The troubadour trio was described by English folk music legend and former Radio 2 presenter Mike Harding as “one of my favourite bands of recent years”.
The Wellies - as they are known by their legion of fans - have just finished a sell-out tour of England and are looking forward to being back on the road in Wales in October and include a visit to Pembroke Dock.
Drawing on narratives from curious everyday occurrences, global politics and folk legends, the Rubber Wellies’ multilingual performances are a mix of musical story-telling, good-time sing-alongs and fun-filled crowd participation.
They flip between the poignant introspection and carefree raucousness that they have been bringing to audiences all over the world for almost a decade.
Their debut album, “Long Way to Be Free”, appeared in 2009 on Hot Drop Records and their second, “The Bones on Black”, was released in March 2012.
A third release is due to follow in 2018, all being well.
The gig is due to be held on Thursday, October 12, is at Cwtch Coffee, Pembroke Dock (£14, 8pm).
Tickets can be bought by calling 01646 687635.
