A SOLO exhibition of work by Seán Vicary entitled ‘Dark Ecology’ will be opening in the gallery at Theatr Mwldan in Cardigan on August 12 at 4pm with live music from Ceri Rhys Matthews.

Seán Vicary’s work explores our relationship with the ‘natural’ world. Taking inspiration from personal (and wider) history, he uses a dilapidated military listening station in Pembrokeshire as the starting point to consider ideas of early warning systems in relation to our state of environmental precariousness.

Deeply rooted in ideas of ‘place’, Vicary’s work often takes found objects and fragments from real life which are then digitally manipulated into animated assemblages and replaced into a new, virtual space.

Working closely with musicians and sound artists, the results are evocative and successfully uncanny.

The exhibition runs until October 1 and admission to the gallery is free. Visit www.mwldan.co.uk/whatson/exhibition or contact 01239 621200 for further details.
