JOHN Gower, celebrated author and documentary maker, will be the first to speak at a series of literary talks and readings in Newport,

Pembrokeshire.

On Saturday, April 23, at Llys Meddygm the programme of events, will be raising money for the Newport Community Library that starts at 1pm and goes on into the evening.

Cost of entry is £10 for adults; children go free.

The Programme of Events: 1pm Jon Gower ‘Wales at Water’s Edge’, ‘An Island Called Smith’ (winner of John Morgan Travel award); ‘Y Storïwr’ (Welsh Language Wales Book of the Year Award in 2012) and ‘Gwalia Patagonia’, published in 2015; 2pm Trevor Fishlock ‘Pembrokeshire: Journeys and Stories’, ‘A Gift of Sunlight’, ‘Trevor Fishlock’s Sea Stories’; 3pm-4.30pm Children’s author events – Eloise Williams & Diane Doona; 4.45pm Jane Blank ‘The Shadow of Nanteos’; ‘Geometry of Love’; 5.45pm Menna Elfyn Poetry readings in Welsh and English; 6.45pm Brian John Hugely popular author of the Angel Mountain series. Spring 2016 sees the launch of the ‘Martha Morgan Country Project’; 7.45pm Acapella Group SCARAMELLA.
