Art lovers in West Wales are in for a treat in the run up to Easter with a new Art Trail in the Newcastle Emlyn area.

Local artists are co-ordinating their studio opening times, and even putting on special exhibitions from March 20-26.

The idea was the brainchild of artists’ group The Square Pegs.

Member Glenn Ibbitson explained: “People like to be able to see several artists in one visit. The studios and exhibitions are quite close together so it’s easy to visit several and make a real day of it.

“In addition to the variety of artists based in the area, Newcastle Emlyn’s High Street is home to many independent art and craft-based businesses; Y Wiber Art Supplies, Cross Patch Quilting, Fair & Fabulous, and The Maker’s Mark. Theatre is provided by the town’s renowned Attic Players.”

Artists taking part are; The Square Pegs’ exhibition of high quality art and fine crafts in Cawdor Hall, Moriath Glass at Cwmpengraig near Dreyfach Velindre and Andrew Francis Art in Adpar.

Helen Elliott Art in Newcastle Emlyn, Diane Mathias Fine Art in Henllan and Cathy Stocker’s Tremallt Studios in Llandysul will also be taking part.

The Powerhouse Community and Art Centre in Llandysul also offers a range of workshops.

Free Trail Maps are available from all these venues and further information is online at artinemlyn.co.uk/
