The Attic Players are busily preparing for their summer production that this year is ‘Curtain Up!’

It is a fast-paced, very funny yet occasionally poignant comedy by Peter Quilter.

Based on the author's earlier ‘Respecting Your Piers’, Curtain Up! is the hilarious story of five women who inherit equal shares in a dilapidated theatre and plan to bring it back to life again.

They try various fund-raising schemes but their most ambitious is to hold a concert featuring local talent and a world-famous star who agrees to appear for no fee.

However, their plans go awry and it's a race to keep their audience from guessing what is really going on.

This all female cast of some well-known and not so familiar members is being very ably directed in her debut role by Tracey Huggins.

Tracey says this is ideal summertime entertainment.

The show will be seen at the Attic Theatre, Cawdor Hall on August 28 and 29 and September 4 and 5.

Tickets may be obtained from the Attic Players website (www.atticplayers.org.uk) or in person at ‘Fair and Fabulous’ in Newcastle Emlyn.
