IT may be summer, but winter is coming to the National Botanic Garden this weekend.

Shakespeare’s The Winter’s Tale will be performed by outdoor theatre experts Taking Flight on Sunday, July 5.

The romantic tragi-comedy is on tour all over Wales this summer, and the action starts at 2pm as it moves around the Garden, scene by scene.

This will be Taking Flight’s seventh visit to the Garden and creative producer Beth House said: “We perform all over Wales but I have to say that the National Botanic Garden is one of our favourite venues.

“We have a great working relationship with the Garden, especially as the action and the scenes move around. It’s one of the most accessible venues we go to.”

The production of The Winter’s Tale, which lasts around two hours, is a story of loss, repentance love and reconciliation and is brought to you this summer in real style.

Join the party at a lively jazz club where toe-tapping music might even get you dancing. Then watch as jealousy destroys this vibrant world, leaving it in a state of eternal winter.

Do not despair, though: you will be whisked over the sea to a place where music, love and plenty of laughter can heal these tragic wounds.

The Garden is open from 10am to 6pm with last entry at 5pm. Admission to the Garden is £9.75 (including Gift Aid). Entry is free for Garden members and parking is free for all.
