Celebration of inclusive West Wales

Supported by Pembrokeshire Tourism and Pembrokeshire County Council, this is the first time there has been an event of this type in West Wales.

"We’ve been involved in accessible tourism in west Wales for nearly 30 years,’ said Clynfyw manager Jim Bowen.

"Over the years we have met so many people striving to make our region more inclusive and accessible. This day is intended to promote their work, and to raise west Wales’ profile as an accessible, inclusive holiday destination. We also hope to inspire others to become more inclusive and accessible."

Running from 10.30am - 3.30pm, there will be information stands from experienced accessible tourism operators and care support providers and experts in Total Communication. Talks will be running throughout the day including from Pembrokeshire People First and an advisor to the Rio 2016 Paralympics.

A Clynfyw spokesman added: "Access, inclusion and social responsibility are sometimes overlooked in tourism while so many people depend on good access for daily life as well as holidays. Promoting current good practice and encouraging others to become more accessible can only benefit the area."

There will be a barbecue, teas, coffees and cakes available throughout the day, as well as a farm, walk weather permitting.

Anyone wanting a stand to promote their work is invited to contact the organisation. Entry is free, but the cost of a stand is £10, which goes towards Clynfyw’s Wheelie Good Idea, sending refurbished wheelchairs and mobility aids to sub-Saharan Africa. A quiz night will be held in aid of the scheme on January 23.
