This winter, Robert Louis Stevenson’s story of murder, money and mutiny, Treasure Island, will be brought to life on the Olivier stage in a new adaptation by Bryony Lavery, suitable for those aged 10 and over.
The production will be screened to Theatr Mwldan Live on January 22, with an Encore event on February 18, both at 6.45pm.
Treasure Island is directed by Polly Findlay and designed by Lizzie Clachan, with lighting design by Bruno Poet, music and sound by Dan Jones, songs by John Tams, fight direction by Bret Yount and movement by Jack Murphy. The illusionist is Chris Fisher; the music supervisor is Matthew Scott, and the music director is Theo Jamieson. Clive Mendus is Comedy Consultant and Carolina Valdes is Creative Associate.
It’s a dark, stormy night. The stars are out. Jim, the inn-keeper’s granddaughter, opens the door to a terrifying stranger. At the old sailor’s feet sits a huge sea-chest, full of secrets. Jim invites him in – and her dangerous voyage begins.
