The programme which Concert Royal, one of Britain’s longest established music groups, will be bringing with them is dedicated to the musical sound world of the eighteenth century through research, study and performance on historic instruments and to share with their audiences an enthusiasm for early music.
Their wide ranging programme of music played on instruments contemporary with the era includes well known composers such as Bach, Handel, Arne and traditional songs together with music researched by Concert Royal from Jane Austen’s music collection held by the Jane Austen Memorial Trust at her cottage in Chawton, Hampshire. Concert Royal will also be including readings from the author’s books and letters to her sister Cassandra.
This engaging concert, promoted by The Peter Gould Music Trust, takes place at Theatr Mwldan. Tickets, priced at £12 (£10) and £1 under 22, are available from the Box Office (01239 61200).
