Three of Europe’s finest acoustic guitarists collaborate in an exciting celebration of their Celtic roots which visits Theatr Mwldan, Cardigan on Friday 7th November. Soig Sibéril from Brittany, Ian Melrose from Scotland and Dylan Fowler from Wales are all international soloists in their own right and have albums released on the prestigious German label, Acoustic Music Records.

An innovative guitarist, Soig Siberil has been a member of many great Breton bands, including Kornog, Gwerz, Den, Pennou Skoulm, and Kemia. Solo acoustic fingerstyle guitarist Ian Melrose is founder member of the folk-pop bands Be Mine or Run and Talking Water, and also forms half of duo Kelpie (with Kerstin Blodig) and the Leuchter-Melrose Duo (with Manfred Leuchter) and is guitarist and arranger with the Celtic project Norland Wind. He has also toured extensively as lead guitarist with Clannad, and plays on the grammy-winning Clannad album “Landmarks” and on the “Clannad: Live in Concert” album, released in 2005. Dylan Fowler has developed an international career as an instrumentalist that has seen him collaborate with such great British musicians as Danny Thompson and Richard Thompson. He has also worked with the great Husna Arslan in Turkey, Canadian guitar virtuoso, Don Ross as well as Akash Deep in Rajasthan. In the last few years he has toured with the ground-breaking East European group, Szapora and recorded and toured with probably the finest contemporary folk singer in Britain today, Julie Murphy.

In this performance they showcase unique styles that draw on three distinct Celtic traditions and a world of musical experiences. Expect sublime music for trio, dazzling music for duo and scintillating solo performances, in this, their first tour of Wales.

“This is music with heart, soul and, above all a bullish determination to ignore recognised boundaries.” Chris Jones – BBC online
