Following their success with 2013’s tour of “Journey To The Centre Of The Earth”, Hummadruz Youth Theatre and Circus are bringing a bit of heaven on earth to the stage this autumn when they take their dazzling show based on Holst’s “The Planets” on a tour of major theatres across Wales.

They are performing at Aberystwyth Arts Centre on October 26 at 2pm.

Performed by a talented group of young people, the Hummadruz company is made up of 17-25 year olds from all over Cardiff who have devised the show and made all the props and costumes too and will feature the recording of Simon Rattle and the Berliner Philharmoniker Orchestra.

The astrological spectacular will feature dance, circus, puppets and illusion, with the whole show glowing in the dark thanks to being performed under ultra violet light. Gustav Holst’s astrological take on The Planets has inspired seven stories that will transport the audience to an Underwater Kingdom, the Elastic Planet, through Time and beyond our Solar System.

Led by Llanover Hall Theatre Director Stuart Bawler, Hummadruz is a youth theatre company based at Llanover Hall Arts Centre in Canton, Cardiff and is part of Cardiff Youth Service. Stuart is an Aberystwyth University Drama graduate and spent 5 years living and working in the town. They have been funded by the Arts Council of Wales and British Council to devise and produce the eye-catching show.

The group are no strangers to the stage, having already appeared in televised heats of Britain’s Got Talent.
