Span Jazz will see the return of the John Gibbon Trio, this time accompanied by the smooth saxophonist Michael Coates on October 22 at the Dingle, Narberth.
Originally from Canada, Michael Coates has earned a valued reputation on the music scene since becoming a British resident. A well-known jazz musician on the London jazz scene, Michael Coates was awarded the BBC's Jazz Soloist of the Year award.
Alongside his debut album, Michael has recorded as a featured soloist with the BBC Radio Big Band. An experienced performer, the smooth musician has also appeared in several musicals, live television broadcasts, and session recordings on the London scene.
While famous for his jazzy jam sessions in the west end, Michael has also previously toured with internationally acclaimed composer and arranger Michel Legrand, as well as vocal legend Alison Moyet.
