Everyone loves a wedding don’t they? You are all invited to be the guests at the wedding reception of Clare and Arjun at Small World Theatre on Sunday 5 October at 6pm. It’s a celebration of an interracial marriage between a country girl and an Indian lad from the city, with all their friends and family. What could possibly go wrong?

Of course plenty does in this fast moving new comedy drama, full of misunderstanding and mishaps with plenty of neat twists and a Bhangra disco dance for everyone to join in at the end.

Award winning Kali has presented ground breaking new theatre by South Asian women for over 20 years. The company has won rave reviews, sell-out performances and inspired audiences all over the UK with original and thought-provoking theatre writing that reflects and comments on our lives today.

The writer, Sayan Kent interviewed people with experience of mixed marriages or rural weddings attended by city dwellers out of their comfort zone. From their stories, she wrote this fun and light-hearted exploration of relationships across the divides of rural/urban, race and age.

Small World Theatre opens its doors at 6pm for guests to enjoy a pre-ordered Indian supper of Chicken Madras or Aubergines cooked in the Pickling Style with delicious side dishes and Love Cake with cardamom and pomegranate shrikhand for afters prepared by Our Two Acres.
