Span Jazz presents another soulful evening filled with an eclectic mix of jazz music on September 17, as Claudia Gunners and Gary Phillips are set to perform at the Dingle, Narberth.

Entertaining the audience all evening with a mix of jazz classics, gypsy jazz, Latin, blues and bluegrass, signing sensation Claudia Gunners and guitarist Gary Phillips are well known musicians on the South Wales music scene.

Well known in Wales for her dynamic energy and community work with Tenby Arts and Blues Festivals. She currently runs ‘Colla Voce’, hosting arts performances in Tenby, and we are proud to welcome her to The Dingle for this Spanjazz performance

Claudia Gunners interpretation of music is unlike any other. Her unique repertoire and distinct vocal style have enchanted audiences across the country, bringing the largest of crowds to silence. With the ability to tackle a range of styles with ease, Claudia is recognised for her laid back approach to music. A true professional, Claudia will perform in seven languages throughout the night.

Wales’ king of gypsy guitar Gary Phillips is also set to perform on the evening. Having fronted the Amigos, Gary is one of Wales’ most sought after jazz guitarists. Gary has collaborated with some of world’s best musicians including jazz/swing violinist Tim Kliphuis, as well as completing a tour of Europe. His performance is an exciting opportunity for jazz and music enthusiasts alike.

Before forming the world music band The Amigos in 1992, he had led the Swansea based blues band, The Blues Bunch. The Amigos have gone on to be a premier attraction at good festivals everywhere, and Gary has excelled at Gypsy guitar gatherings in Europe. He has also written music for films and currently lectures and runs guitar workshops at Swansea University.
