Ceredigion MP Mark Williams opened the Llanarth Art Group’s annual art exhibition last Friday.

Llanarth Art Group was formed in 2000 by a group of like-minded artists. They meet weekly in Llanarth to paint, stitch, print, critique work and offer mutual support and encouragement.

Their work uses a variety of mediums, ranging from acrylics, water colour, pen and ink, paint and stitch, to collograph, etching and 3D.

Mark Williams said: "I was delighted to once again open this excellent exhibition and would encourage all to attend and view the high quality pieces of work. The members of this now well established group have every reason to be proud of their contribution to art in the county.

“I believe Ceredigion to be a real hub of artistic excellence, and we should be doing our utmost to promote this important sector especially in the tourist season, but more generally throughout the year. Food tourism, art and craft tourism also are very important and attractive reasons why people should come to Ceredigion.

“The seven contributors to the exhibition have been described as the Magnificent Seven – I would concur with that.”
