Span Arts are starting their Classical series again this Autumn, within a sociable and friendly atmosphere, starting with welsh soprano Jessica Robinson at the Hotel Plas Hyfryd on Thursday 4th September.

An experienced performer, Jessica has accompanied some of Wales’ most distinguished male voice choirs, including Blaenavon, South Wales and the London Welsh Male Voice choir. Jessica has performed in a range of renowned venues, including the Wales Millennium stadium and The National Museum of Wales. The vocalist has previously performed for HRH the Prince of Wales, as well as the Welsh Rugby team.

With a string of awards to her name including the Aneurin Davies memorial award, The Mansel Thomas prize, The Margaret Tann Award and the Elias Soprano award, it is a treat to have Jessica perform in such an intimate venue.

This concert is the first of three; the follow-up evening brings Icaris Duo to Narberth on Thursday 2nd October, and the concluding part will feature The Kane Players on Thursday 6th November.

Also alumni of the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, Icaris Duo (Will Browne and Vicky Guise) are a flute and guitar duo based in Cardiff, South Wales. A versatile and dynamic ensemble with a passion for bringing music to a wider audience base, the duo has been a part of the Live Music Now scheme since April 2012.

The final evening will feature a performance from The Kane Payers. A chamber ensemble, The Kane Players will host a Dylan Thomas themed evening alongside other compositions. A unique spin on all things Dylan Thomas this evening is an opportunity for great music within a lively social setting.

As well as drinks in a pleasant space with a great atmosphere, you can enjoy a delicious meal from 6pm onwards, prepared by Plas Hyfryd’s chef (advance booking essential). Music starts at 7:30pm. Tickets are available now from the Span Arts box office at span-arts.org.uk or you can ring us on 01834 869323..
