Patagonian connection inspires musician

Newport based singer-songwriter Lowri Evans’ new Welsh EP ‘Gadael y gorffennol’ (Leaving the past) was released last week.

To celebrate the new release Lowri giving away one of the tracks as a free download. ‘Carlos Ladd (Patagonia)’, co-written with Hedd Ladd-Lewis, a true story about their great, great grandfather who emigrated to Patagonia in 1881 to look for a better life.

Last Friday Lowri performed in a live ‘Under the apple tree’ session with Bob Harris (BBC Radio 2), and this Thursday, August 7, Lowri will be taking part in a live session on BBC Radio Cymru at 8.30am. She will also be performing at Aberjazz Festival, The Skirmisher, Fishguard, August 24, 4pm, and The Ship, Llangrannog August 29.

The EP is to buy online from and to download from iTunes and Amazon.
