The Festival Players are back after last year’s fantastic Midsummer Night’s Dream with their production of Shakespeare’s A Comedy of Errors in the beautiful grounds of Lampeter House on Thursday August 7.

The Comedy of Errors is a brilliant farce based on mistaken identity, with some dramatic and sinister undertones among the company’s characteristic humour.

A master and his servant arrive in a foreign port which, unbeknown to them, is the home of their long-lost twin brothers. Mayhem ensues as brother is taken for brother in a riotous train of misunderstandings, seduction, and pursuit.

The Festival Players are an all-male theatre group who specialise in open-air Shakespeare productions and are gaining a great reputation both nationally and internationally.

The play takes place in the stunning grounds of Lampeter House complete with its own natural amphitheatre. Home to keen opera lovers Mami and Julian Williams, the estate in Lampeter Velfrey has hosted events for almost 15 years, from piano recitals to opera.

Arrive early to enjoy the gardens with a drink or a picnic from 6pm. The play starts at 7.30pm, and wine, food and other refreshments will be available.
