To mark the one-hundredth anniversary of the outbreak of the First World War, the Cilgerran Players have chosen for their summer show the musical entertainment Oh What A Lovely War! Causing something of a stir when it was first staged in 1963 by Joan Littlewood and her Theatre Workshop company, it has become a theatrical classic enjoyed by a wide spectrum of audiences, containing as it does a powerful mix of satire, comedy and pathos accompanied by the intensely evocative songs of the Great War. This promises to be an entertaining and thought-provoking evening.

Performances Friday July 11 and Saturday July 12 at 7.30 pm at Cilgerran Hall. Tickets £6 from Pendre Garage, Old Posthouse Stores and Camrose Stores in Cilgerran and at Warp & Weft (fabric stall in lower market) in Cardigan. Also on the door. Enquiries/reservations 01239 615909.
