Span Arts presents a very special one-off gig for the summer, featuring the talents of Glenn Tilbrook and Chris Difford of the classic 80s band Squeeze at Narberth Queens Hall on Friday 11th July.

Together Difford and Tilbrook were writing partners for Squeeze, Tilbrook being the lead singer and guitarist, and Difford the main songwriter, also notably writing lyrics for artists including Jools Holland, Elton John, Wet Wet Wet and others.

The band delighted audiences with their honky-tonk new wave and pithy lyricism, and they collaborated with Paul Carrack and Elvis Costello among others.

Difford and Tilbrook haven’t always got on, but recently have discovered a lot of respect for each other, touring together and writing music again. The duo will be performing some of Squeeze’s classic hits including ‘Up the Junction’ and ‘Cool for Cats’, as well as some previously unheard new Squeeze material.

Having not played as a duo for 20 years, they have decided to do a small select number of intimate shows ahead of a major British autumn tour. Expect spontaneity, a little chaos, and many of those wonderful hits from across their fruitful career.

Span Arts are continuously strving to bring ‘Arts to Everyone’ and reviving the 80s is no exception!

Tickets for this event are available from the Span Arts box office on 01834 869323 or online at span-arts.org.uk.
